As I have been collecting gear together for my next camping trip I was trying to find a way to organize my kitchen setup and make everything accessible and easy. I looked on YouTube to see what people were using and gathered a few ideas of my own and set out to Harbor Freight, Tractor Supply, and Walmart. I looked at all the tool boxes I could find as well as tool bags, plastic containers, and travel luggage. I ended up finding a Gem in Walmart. I ran across the Hart Master loader Rolling Toolbox.
This toolbox splits open with two compartments on top of the container, sliding back to reveal the inner container. Both sliding trays have plenty of storage above for utensils, spices, and measuring cups. The inner portion has plenty of space that fits my Coleman stove, cooking tray, cutting board, 12″ cast iron skillet, 9.5″ camping frying pan, 8 Qt pot, two plates, two bowls, paper towels, tin foil, an oven mitt, two pot warmers, and a candle.
The Master Loader tool box is super portable with it’s retractable handle and wheels. You can pull out the handle on this bad boy and stroll to your favorite spot to setup for your cooking rendezvous.
After getting everything packed into the Master Loader tool box I found something that was missing during the first outing… Lights. I went back to the drawing board and found a touch light at Walmart for the inside along with two LED head lamps that I used two sided tape on to mount to the top sections of the kitchen box. These head lamps can fold away easily and be positioned so that the light can shine on the contents of the top sliding trays. Genius… I know.
This kitchen box has gotten more use than anything else I have in my camping/overlanding gear. My girlfriend and I use the Master Loader Kitchen Box out at the pier at Lake Waccamaw on a weekly basis. We like to have picnics there at sunset to cook and have drinks and just enjoy the moment. It’s definitely been a game changer.
